This policy explains what we collect when you use this website, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who we are

Cheshire Frame & Glass is the trading name of Cheshire Frame and Glass Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13566082), whose registered office is 2 Station View, Hazel Grove, Stockport SK7 5ER. We supply and install windows, doors and glazing across South Manchester, Cheshire and the surrounding areas, and we are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect, and why

If you fill in the enquiry form we collect your name, email address, telephone number, postcode, the product you are interested in and whatever you write in the message box. We collect this so we can answer your enquiry, work out whether your property is in the area we cover, and give you a quote. We do not collect anything else, and there is no other form on this site.

Our web host keeps standard server logs, which include the IP address making each request. Those are kept for security and troubleshooting and are not used to build any profile of you.

Our lawful basis

We handle enquiry details on the basis of legitimate interests — you have asked us for a quote and we cannot provide one without them — and, where you have ticked the consent box, on the basis of your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us, and it costs you nothing to do so.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted after 24 months. Where we go on to do work for you, we keep the paperwork for 7 years, because guarantees, building-regulations self-certification and HMRC record-keeping all require it.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your details and we do not share them for marketing. Three suppliers process data on our behalf, under contract, and only to make the website work:

• Our web host, which stores the website and its database on servers in the United Kingdom.
• Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES), which delivers the email your enquiry generates. Processed in the EU (Ireland).
• Google Fonts, which serves the two typefaces this site uses. Loading a font means your browser contacts a Google server, and that server sees your IP address. No cookie is set and nothing identifies you personally.

We may also pass details to a fitter or supplier where that is necessary to carry out work you have asked us to do.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, or object to us holding it at all. We will respond within one month. If you are not happy with how we have handled it you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
